February 5, 2021 - Women of Chelsea, Dexter, Grass Lake, Manchester, Stockbridge and adjacent communities selected St. Louis Center to receive at least $9,700 from giving circle at our February 2, 2021 Impact Award meeting.

100 Women Who Care-Chelsea Area has selected St. Louis Center for Exceptional Children and Adults as the recipient of its second Impact Award, which, thanks to a surge in membership after its inaugural meeting in October 2020, will amount to at least $9,700. The local giving circle’s Steering Committee will also seek a matching gift from the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation - Power of 100 program, which, if approved, could add an additional $4,850 (50%) to that total.

The Impact Award meeting was held via Zoom on the evening of February 2. Of the eight eligible charities nominated by members, three were chosen at random in advance of the event. Each of the three charities had seven minutes to make the best case for their mission to the membership, giving all in attendance valuable insight into their vital contributions to the community. After all the presentations were finished, the members were invited to cast their ballots. The St. Louis Center received the majority and was the recipient of the evening’s Impact Award.
